Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Metta platform ("Service") operated by Metta ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is currently in active development and provided on a beta basis. Features may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly. We make no guarantee of uptime, stability, data retention, or feature continuity during this period. You are using the Service with the understanding that it is not yet a finished product.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with its intended function — facilitating introductions between nonprofit organizations, their staff, and their volunteers. You must not:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these restrictions, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
The Service does not currently implement enterprise-grade data protection, encryption at rest, or compliance certifications (such as SOC 2 or HIPAA). You acknowledge and accept this limitation. Do not upload sensitive personal data, financial records, health information, or any information governed by data protection regulations that require certified safeguards.
By using the Service, you accept full responsibility for the data you upload, including prospect names, contact details, and organizational affiliations. We will not be held liable for any breach, loss, or unauthorized access to data stored on the platform during this development phase.
We may collect usage data and telemetry to improve the Service. We will not sell your data to third parties.
All content, design, code, branding, trademarks, and materials comprising the Service — including but not limited to the Metta name, logo, user interface, and underlying software — are the exclusive property of Metta and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership interest in the Service or its components. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service solely for its intended purpose.
You must not, and must not permit any third party to:
You retain ownership of any data or content you upload to the Service ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service on your behalf.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your User Content does not violate the privacy rights, intellectual property rights, or any other rights of third parties.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Metta and its founders, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of goodwill — arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will indicate the date of the most recent revision at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in California.
